Ice baths do not help recovery and muscle growth after a strength or hypertrophy workout. In fact, studies show the complete opposite, if you are timing it wrong. It is believed we should wait at least 4 hours post workout, I personally wait 20hr+. To some extent, ice baths reduce inflammation and limit the activation of key signaling pathways for muscle protein synthesis.
