Ke? ! Quantum tunneling is a mind-boggling phenomenon in quantum mechanics that allows particles to pass through barriers that, classically, would be impenetrable. Imagine a tennis ball trying to climb a high wall: according to classical physics, it would never make it to the other side. In the quantum world, however, the ball has a tiny chance of "tunneling" through the wall, as if teleporting to the other side.
