Unfinished but still serving face The Crazy Horse Memorial in South Dakota is the world’s largest mountain carving (it’s bigger than the pyramids of Giza) and it’s still a work in progress. Sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski started the project in 1948 and dedicated the remainder of his life to it. It’s still being carved by his family today.
